Classic 8 Turbo Yeast
Classic 8 Turbo Yeast
Use with 8kg of sugar for high ABV, or 6kg of sugar for fast fermenting in 48 hours,
Contains mineral absorbents for added distillate quality.
In your fermenter mix together hot and cold water until the temperature is adjusted to 40C or lower.. Drain excess water out thru the tap until there is 20 Litres left. Add 6 kg of dextrose brewing sugar (or chelsea white sugar or distillers sugar). Stir well to dissolve. The temperature of the liquid will drop with the addition of sugar to 35C. Add one packet of Classic Turbo and stir well again. Fit lid and airlock (making sure the water is uneven) and allow to ferment out maintaining 20-25C until hydrometer reading of .990 is reached and wash is cleared.
NB: if you are in less of a hurry then make the starting water temperature 30C before adding the sugar which will further reduce start wash temperature to around 25C. The hotter the wash mixture and the greater the amount of sugar used then there is more chance of NOT successfully reaching .990 (called a Stuck fermentation).
If using 7 or 8kgs of sugar do not exceed 25C at any point. Ideally these washes will ferment down to at least .986-.988 for 7kgs and .980-.984 for 8kgs.
